More About
Praise be to Pod

Meet your
heavenly hosts

We’re two friends who met post-[evangelical] church and bonded over everything we used to believe—and everything we’re still working out

We grew up in church. Then we grew up.

Hosted by Ashley and Bailee, Praise be to Pod is an honest, slightly irreverent, and (mostly) lighthearted podcast about life after evangelical christianity. Exvangelical

Join us for conversations covering a slew of seemingly unrelated topics including but certainly not limited to spiritual paradigm shifts, deep dives into pop culture, astrology and tarot, and what we think happens after we die. Sometimes we cringe at the memories of purity culture and early 2000s movies about the rapture. Sometimes we just laugh at old WWJD bracelets.

No shame, no altar call—just two friends experiencing the highs and lows of life after deconstructing, reflecting on what we left behind, and thinking about what lies ahead.

  • Bailee - podcast host has long blonde hair and is sitting in the studio in front of her laptop and microphone.

    Bailee

    HOST

Bailee is a pastor’s kid from rural Minnesota who wasn’t allowed to watch Harry Potter or wear spaghetti strap tank tops growing up. With a degree in International Relations from a christian university she’s surprised hasn’t lost its accreditation yet, her curiosity for life outside of her tiny hometown has led her to moves all over the country, a career in political and government communications, and a blue voting record that would make her father cry.

These days, Bailee happily resides in a delightfully decrepit Saint Paul apartment with her cats, “Uncle Marty” and “June,” some black mold in the bathroom, and—likely a ghost or two.

  • Ashley - podcast host has short brown hair and is sitting in the studio in front of her laptop and microphone.

    Ashley

    HOST

Ashley grew up as a church camp kid, youth group regular, and missions trip overachiever. Armed with a B.A. in studio art, a master’s in linguistics, and stamps in her passport, Ashley has lived many lives throughout the world. She now calls Minneapolis home—along with her husband Danny and their dogs Murphy and Coach Taylor.

Currently in pursuit of her own spiritual journey, the perfect mocktail recipe, and a long overdue ADHD diagnosis, she’s here for the big questions, the messy middle, and chasing the euphoria that comes from a well-organized Google Drive.
